FMG was selected by UT Health Houston School of Public Health to help reconfigure and furnish their new office space spanning two and a half floors in their new building. With a focus on sustainability and cost-efficiency, the project aimed to reuse as much existing furniture as possible while meeting both functional and aesthetic requirements. FMG efficiently integrated nearly 10-year-old Haworth products, panel systems, task seating, and side chairs, by reconfiguring them with new work surfaces and blending them with matching new pieces. This approach allowed the design team to meet the client’s needs while showcasing the durability and longevity of the furniture, providing a cohesive, sustainable solution.

Objective

The objective was to repurpose existing furniture, reconfigure systems from three different buildings into two cohesive floors, and create a functional, aesthetically pleasing office environment that adhered to higher education contract requirements and budget constraints.

Solution

FMG conducted a thorough inventory of the existing Haworth furniture, reworked panel systems with new work surfaces, and blended discontinued products with new pieces to create a functional, cohesive layout for private offices, conference rooms, collaboration spaces, and ancillary areas.

Results

FMG delivered a high-functioning, aesthetically cohesive office environment by reusing durable, high-quality furniture and meeting the client’s goals for sustainability, cost-efficiency, and functionality, completing the project on time and within budget.
